Examination Misconduct/Malpractice

Examination misconduct / student malpractice is a sensitive issue for all awarding bodies, particularly for those with a professional body role. Candidates who behave inappropriately in examinations/assessments undermine the integrity of the CILEx assessment process.

The vast majority of CILEx candidates abide by our regulations and study hard to ensure their assessment performance reflects their ability, knowledge and competence. It is important that CILEx supports this majority of hardworking candidates by being vigilant and identifying and disciplining candidates who choose to ignore the regulations which govern our assessment processes.

CILEx sets out the regulations and procedures for dealing with misconduct/malpractice in the following documents:

CILEx Procedures for Dealing with Cases of Suspected Student Malpractice

CILEx Procedures for Dealing with Cases of Suspected Accredited Centre Malpractice

The responsibilities of those involved in identifying and making decisions on possible cases of examination misconduct are set out along with the action a candidate should take if accused of misconduct.
