Outcome 3: explain the concept of the mortgage

The candidate will be able to:

• describe the purpose of a mortgage and sources of a mortgage funding
• describe the main types of mortgage and interest rate packages ie repayment and interest-only (endowment)
• describe the protection available for the mortgagee and the mortgagor.
