Outcome 1: distinguish between land and property

The candidate will be able to:

• describe what constitutes real property
• describe what constitutes personal property ie chattels, eg coat, hat, scarf
• define the term 'land'
• describe the principles of co-ownership including rights of survivorship
• identify the main differences between freehold land and leasehold land
• describe the basic concept of commonhold rights for flat owners.
