The new, revised and updated ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice and the ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and
Practice, the first stages of qualifying to become a Legal Executive, have been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum
Authority (QCA).
They will be available to students from September 2008 through accredited centres in England and Wales, including the ILEX Tutorial
College.
There is no difference in overall level between the new qualification and what it replaces. In terms of the legal content, the
new qualifications have strong similarities with the existing Diploma, but the big differences lie in how the new qualification is structured.
Transition
Students already studying under the existing qualification will have until Autumn 2009 to complete their studies. Transitional arrangements will be put in place for those students who might need to use units from the new qualification to complete the existing Level 3 Diploma in Law.
