Can you help to deliver better Civil Justice?

Applications invited from Legal Executives in Civil
Justice who are Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives
(ILEX)
The Civil Justice Council was established under the Civil
Procedure Act 1997 as an advisory non-departmental public body. It
is responsible for keeping the civil justice system under review,
advising on change and procedural reform, and considering how to
make the system more accessible, fair and efficient.
A vacancy has arisen on the Council for a legal executive who is
a Fellow of ILEX. You should be a practitioner in civil justice
with a specialism including, but not limited to, debt recovery,
housing, general litigation, commercial litigation, clinical
negligence or personal injury. You will be able to contribute both
at a strategic level and from a day-to-day perspective of working
in the area of civil justice.
The Council meets four times a year and much of its work is done
through ad hoc, time-limited working parties. The time commitment
would be approximately 10 days a year. The appointment is for three
years and is offered without remuneration. Reasonable travelling
and other expenses are payable.
Further information on the Council and its current work can be
found on the CJC website: www.civiljusticecouncil.gov.uk.
Applications must be submitted by midday on Friday 10th February
2012. Interviews are scheduled to take place in early March 2012 in
London.
