Disciplinary ruling: Mrs Humaira Shah
The Disciplinary Tribunal of IPS considered proceedings bought
against Mrs Humaira Shah, of Luton, on 2 July 2009 as a result of a
complaint made about her by a client. Mrs Shah was a Fellow
of ILEX and registered by ILEX to provide immigration advice and
services.
Full details of the charges against Mrs Shah and the decision of
the Disciplinary Tribunal can be found here.
Mrs Shah appealed against the decision and her appeal was heard
on 7 October 2009. The Appeals Tribunal upheld the decision
of the Disciplinary Tribunal. Therefore with effect from 6
November 2009 Mrs Shah was excluded from membership of ILEX for one
year. As a consequence, Mrs Shah can no longer describe
herself as a Fellow of ILEX or a Legal Executive, and she cannot
provide immigration advice or services as member authorised by
ILEX.
