Probate rights
An application was made to the Legal Services
Board setting out proposals by which ILEX members may be able to
provide probate services, which is a reserved legal activity under
the Legal Services Act 2007.
The application was withdrawn due to a change
of emphasis resulting from the Legal Services Act towards entity
regulation and a licensing regime, and the expectation that
regulation should be outcomes-focussed and risk based. The
changes necessitate a review of the applications which IPS has
commenced.
