Charges

The charge against Mohammed Zamir of Birmingham was that he engaged in conduct unbefitting to the Institute of Legal Executives or likely to bring the Institute or its members into disrepute contrary to Rule 32 (1) (c) of the Investigation, Disciplinary and Appeals Rules.

 

The Particulars to the charge were that on 6 June 2008 at Sutton Coldfield Mohammed Zamir, in the course of an ILEX professional examination, namely, the Mixed Assessment Route final examination, used a mobile telephone or similar communication device prohibited by the Instructions to Candidates: Examination Regulations.

 

Outcome    

The charge was found to be proved.

 

Penalty

The Tribunal decided that Mr Zamir should be excluded from membership of ILEX for a fixed period of three years.  The Tribunal also ordered that Mr Zamir should pay a contribution to costs in the sum of £1,000.
