The charges against David Anthony Wright of
Dareham, Norfolk were that:
(1) He failed to conduct himself in such a
manner as to avoid disrepute being brought upon the Institute or
its members, and doubt being cast upon his own professional
integrity, contrary to paragraphs 1(1) and (2) of the Code of
Conduct of the Institute of Legal Executives.
The particulars to this charge were that Mr
Wright absented himself from work by falsely representing to his
employer, by means of diary entries, that he had outside business
opportunities.
(2) He failed to conduct himself in such a
manner as to avoid disrepute being brought upon the Institute or
its members, and doubt being cast upon his own professional
integrity contrary to paragraphs 1(1) and (2) of the Code of
Conduct of the Institute of Legal Executives.
The particulars to this charge were that on
diverse occasions David Wright dishonestly made and submitted to
his employer for payment, travel claim forms for travel expenses
totalling £140.75 in respect of alleged business journeys which he
knew to be false.
(3) He failed to conduct himself in such a
manner as to avoid disrepute being brought upon the Institute or
its members, and doubt being cast upon his own professional
integrity contrary to paragraphs 1(1) of the Code of Conduct of the
Institute of Legal Executives.
The particulars to this charge were that on 23
October 2008, by reason of the matters particularised in Charges 1
and 2, an Order pursuant to Section 43 (3) of the Solicitors Act
1974 (as amended) was made by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
that no solicitor, registered European Lawyer or incorporated
solicitors’ practice shall, except in accordance with permission in
writing granted by the Law Society for a period and subject to such
conditions as the Society shall think fit, employ or remunerate the
said David Anthony Wright in connection with their practice.
