Charges

The charge against Graham Leslie Albert Wheelband of Leamington Spa was that he accepted instructions when a conflict of interest occurred; failed to notify building society clients of material facts and misled his building society mortgagee about relevant facts; and an order had been made against him by the Solicitor’s Disciplinary Tribunal under s43 of the Solicitors Act 1974.

 

Outcome    

The charge was found proved.

 

Penalty

The Tribunal ordered that Mr Wheelband should be excluded from membership of ILEX.  The Tribunal recommended that ILEX should consider any application by Mr Wheelband to be reinstated after a period of three years.
