The charge was that in or about June 2009 Mrs Sultana, then a student member of ILEX and a candidate in the course of an ILEX professional examination, namely Unit 17 Legal Research Tasks 1, 2 and 3, presented to Whitechapel College as her own written work, that (or which included that) of another candidate, when she knew, or ought to have known copying or plagiarism of the work of another candidate was not permitted by the examination body and/or thereby cast doubt upon her integrity WHEREBY disrepute was brought upon ILEX.

The charge was found proved.

Mrs Sultana was excluded from membership of ILEX for a minimum period of two years and was ordered to make a contribution to costs.
