The charge against Mrs Katherine Pearson of
Exeter was that she engaged in conduct unbefitting to ILEX or
likely to bring ILEX or its members into disrepute contrary to the
Code of Conduct.
The particulars to this charge were that:
An order was made against Mrs Pearson under
s43 Solicitors Act 1974 that no solicitor shall employ or
remunerate her without the consent of the Law Society.
Mrs Pearson was convicted of two counts of
procuring the execution of a valuable security.
Mrs Pearson misappropriated client funds in
that she transferred monies from a client account of a client for
whom she was acting during the course of her employment by
obtaining cheques for which no payments were due.
