The charge against Mr Ansari was that he engaged in action
unbefitting to ILEX or likely to bring disrepute upon himself or
ILEX contrary to the Code of Conduct of the Institute of Legal
Executives and/or Rules 10(1)(a), 13, 16(3) and/or 30(9) of the
Investigation, Disciplinary and Appeals Rules.
The particulars of the charge were:
1. Mr Majid Ansari, an Affiliate member of ILEX, failed to
declare on an application made on or about November 2008 to enrol
as a student member of ILEX and thereafter on annual subscription
returns that he had been convicted in 2008 of an offence of driving
without a licence and driving without insurance as required by Rule
10 (1)(a) of the Investigation, Disciplinary and Appeal Rules.
2. Between on or about 11 October 2010 and 18 January 2011 Mr
Majid Ansari failed to respond, alternatively failed adequately to
respond, to the written requests for information made by ILEX
Professional Standards, it having been his duty to so respond by
virtue of Rule 13 of the Investigation, Disciplinary and Appeal
Rules.
3. Between on or about 21 December 2010 and 18 January 2011 Mr
Majid Ansari failed to respond to the request of the Professional
Conduct Panel to appear before the Panel made under Rule 16(2) of
the Investigation, Disciplinary and Appeal
Rules.
