The charge against Mrs Carolyn North of
Hampshire was the she engaged in conduct unbefitting to ILEX or
likely to bring ILEX or its members into disrepute contrary to
Section 1(1) of the Code of Conduct and/or conducted herself in a
such a manner as to allow doubt to be cast upon her professional
integrity contrary to Section 1 (2) of the Code of Conduct.
The particulars to this charge were:
An order was made against Carolyn North under
s43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 that no solicitor shall, except in
accordance with permission in writing granted by the Law Society
for such a period and subject to such conditions as the Society may
think fit to specify in the permission, employ or remunerate in
connection with their practice as a solicitor Carolyn North.
Carolyn North misappropriated client monies in
the region of £17,724.48, during the course of her employment at
RHW.
