The charges against Paul Martin of
Northumberland were:
Mr Martin failed to conduct himself in a
manner as to avoid bringing disrepute upon ILEX or its members and
to avoid doubt being cast upon his own professional integrity
contrary to the Code of Conduct.
The particulars to this charge were:
That an order was made against Mr Martin under
s43 Solicitors Act 1974 that no solicitor shall employ or
remunerate him without the consent of the Law Society.
Mr Martin misled clients about the progress
and status of their cases.
Mr Martin failed to keep his clients promptly
and effectively informed of the progress and developments in their
cases contrary to the ILEX Guide to Good Practice.
