The charge against Anthony Joesph Lansdell of
Rotherham was that Mr Lansdell failed to conduct himself in such a
manner as to avoid bringing disrepute upon the Institute and its
Members; and/or doubt being cast upon his own professional
integrity contrary to Section 1 of the Code of Conduct of the
Institute of Legal Executives.
The particulars to the charge were:
Anthony Joseph Lansdell, was convicted on 25
February 2002 at York Crown Court, of 13 counts of theft with 22
other offences taken into consideration. He was on 22 March
2002 sentenced to a community rehabilitation order for two years,
and ordered to pay £1200 towards the cost of the prosecution.
On 14 August 2002, an order was made pursuant
to Section 43(2) of the Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended) that no
solicitor shall, except in accordance with permission in writing
granted by the Law Society for such a period and subject to such
conditions as the Society may think fit to specify in the
permission, employ or remunerate in connection with their practice
as a solicitor the said Anthony Joseph Lansdell.
By reason of the matters stated above, Anthony
Joseph Lansdell failed to conduct himself in such a manner as to
avoid bringing disrepute upon the Institute or its members, and to
avoid doubt being cast upon his own professional integrity.
