Our management team
Chief Executive
Ian Watson is Chief Executive Officer and Head of
Professional Standards. He is responsible for the governance of IPS
and accountable to the Board, working closely with the Board’s
Chair. Ian had previously fulfilled a number of key roles over the
years with ILEX, including responsibility for education, careers,
corporate governance, law reform, professional standards and
development and complaints handling. Moving across to IPS brings
together many of these areas whilst focusing on the development of
the role of IPS.
Professional Standards Manager
Baljeet Basra is the Professional Standards Manager at
IPS. She is responsible for policy work at IPS including
applications for new practice rights for ILEX members, the new Code
of Conduct and development work on licensing rules. Baljeet
also oversees the complaints handling and disciplinary work carried
out by IPS staff and was responsible for developing the new
complaints handling rules. Previously she had carried out
complaints handling and prosecution work.
