Responsibilities
Persons enrolling as
members of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) become bound by
its Memorandum and Articles of
Association. They must:
- Support the aims and objects of the Institute
- Uphold the standards of professional practice prescribed in the
Code of Conduct.
The Articles of Association provide for a
Disciplinary Tribunal to be established which has power to consider
and determine any complaint that a member is guilty of conduct
unbefitting to a Fellow or to ILEX members generally.
The Tribunal may decide that such a person may be excluded from
membership or be reprimanded or admonished. It may also order a
member to pay a fine, or costs, or compensation to a
complainant.
