Disciplinary Powers
What ILEX can
do
ILEX can take disciplinary action against members who breach the
Code of Conduct or its rules, or whose behaviour is unbefitting to
membership of ILEX. The disciplinary powers are set out in
the section 'making a complaint to ILEX'.
What ILEX cannot do
ILEX cannot take action:
- Against someone who is not a member
- Against solicitors' firms
- To stop a person working in the law or being employed in a
solicitors' firm.
