Becoming a Legal Executive Lawyer
ILEX offers a
highly cost-effective and accessible route to becoming a
lawyer and unparalleled access to a flexible career
in law.
The ILEX route to law is the ideal way to
obtain a law qualification for school leavers, graduates, legal
support staff, mature students and those who already have family
commitments. It is possible to start training to be an ILEX
lawyer with a variety of qualification levels.
You should hold a minimum of four GCSE grades C or
above including English Language or Literature or qualifications at
an equivalent level. If you do not have any formal qualifications
we strongly recommend that you consider studying for a City& Guilds/ILEX qualification in Legal
Studies before embarking on the legal executive training
route.
Exemptions
from parts of the ILEX Professional Qualification in Law may
be available if you hold an A level in law, a recognised law degree
or if you have already done a postgraduate Legal Practice
Course.
Typically students receive on-the-job
training in solicitors’ offices or legal departments, whilst also
attending classes in law and practice at academic institutions or
via distance learning.
So if you wish to switch to a career in law,
or want to 'earn and learn' and avoid student debt, ILEX is
your first choice.
