Introduction

The Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) was established in 1963. The education and training facilities ILEX offers have developed in numbers and diversity so that we are truly able to provide a route to a career in law which is open to all.

The strategy document makes a clear statement of how the Institute sees itself, and how it will position itself to ensure its members can take advantage of changes in the provision of legal services. ILEX will help its members to continue to provide the services clients want to standards that clients have a right to expect.

Moving Forward Staying Ahead - Summary

ILEX will:

1. Ensure its professional qualification remains relevant to the needs of law firms, legal departments and the needs of employers and clients. It must be appropriate to meet the needs of a fast developing legal services sector and to support the contribution made by Legal Executives to ensuring Access to Justice. This professional qualification will be designed and delivered to meet national quality standards.
   
   
2. Develop its role as a natural home for all those seeking training or education relevant to their role in the legal office.
   
   
3. Make itself more relevant to its members through the services it provides, and by seeking new professional opportunities for its members.
   
   
4. Develop its role as an efficient and respected professional body.
   
   
5. Ensure customer service underpins all the activities of the ILEX group.
